Flame Detection

Husky Energy has reported that on February 28, 2017, while conducting maintenance in an electrical room on-board the Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit Henry Goodrich, flames were observed coming from nearby electrical equipment. Power to the electrical equipment was isolated, operations were suspended and the general alarm was sounded. All personnel mustered and there were no injuries.

An inspection of the area was conducted and it was deemed no further electrical arcing or fire hazard was present.

The C-NLOPB is monitoring Husky Energy’s continued investigation of the incident.
